Studio NetherRealm closed the book about Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 was released a bit more than two years ago, and at that time since then, we have seen many launch additional content for the title. We have seen two packages Kombat – add nine fighters between them – along with the expansion called Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, which adds three other fighters above the new story content. While many fans hope we will see the third Kombat package with more warriors from the series’ past, it looks like it won’t happen. 

Netherrealm today closed the book about Mortal Kombat 11 forever, announced on Twitter which was officially done supporting the game with a new DLC. “NetherrealM now focuses on the next project and after more than two years supports Mortal Kombat 11, DLC for the game, including character, it has ended,” the company wrote in a rather short announcement.

While DLC is done and the hope of new characters has broken up, which does not mean that all support for the game dries. NetherRealm specifically said that the plan for DLC was completed in tweets, leaving the door open to new balance fillings and other updates in the future.

NetherRealm is now focusing on its next project and after more than two years of supporting Mortal Kombat 11, DLC for the game, including characters, has come to an end.

As for this new project, it is an allegation of anyone. It may be safe to assume that the next NetherrealM project is a battle game that is given the history of the company, and even without concrete details, we might be able to narrow it into several different franchises. For example, NetherRealm can work on a new injustice game after the success of the 2017 injustice 2. Of course, the company can also work on the next Mortal Kombat game because the series is bread and butter netherrealm.

That said, it is always possible that NetherRealm works on something completely new. We just had to wait and see what the next studio announced, but the announcement like that might be far from. We will tell you when it happens, so stay here more.
