Nokia X60 is rumored to be running Huawei HarmonyOS instead of Android

HMD Global has made a big step in reviving the Nokia brand in the Android world. Whether it works or not is still debated but, so far, it has played a part of a good Android maker, especially when it comes to its commitment to Android updates. Now there is a whisper that the honeymoon phase with Android might end and is undergoing other partners, who will see the Nokia X60 and X60 Pro who will come as a new harmony Huawei in front of Huawei.

It’s really not easy to qualify what really is actually outside being a Huawei multi-platform OS. The company may violently deny the association and define HarmonyOS in the marketing language filled by buzz, but, at least based on some developer analysis, the phone version still has many hooks to Android. Call it the Android fork may come closest, which means both Android but also not Android.

That’s what makes this new rumor a little surprising if true. According to Ithome, Global HMD has decided to place the same harmony on one of the upcoming cell phones, called the Nokia X60 and the Nokia X60 Pro. HMD Global does have experience with other cellular platforms, such as S60 based Symbian on Nokia phones, but these rumors are more out of the blue even for companies.

One potential reason for this sudden change is that HMD might want to target the Chinese market specifically with these two phones. The fact that Harmonyos does not have access to Google Play Services and Apps is not a big problem in China because they are not yet available there. In the global market, it is an agreement breaker, because Huawei can prove.

The Nokia X60 itself, there is still some uncertainty about specifications but features such as 200MP cameras, 6,000 mAh batteries, and curved edges have been mentioned. It is a feature that certainly sounds too good to be true, which only makes this Harmonyos Nokia mobile more fantastic.
