The new Huddles feature Slack adds casual sound chat for remote workers

Slack, strong convenient services are popular with long-distance work teams and large companies, have added new features called Huddles. With this feature, users can ‘curl up’ with one or more coworkers in sound chat, mimicking the type of conversation that you might have before going to a person’s office or booth to speak directly.

Many companies transition to remote workflows, which means the team of people who used to share the same office space now find themselves working from their home office, bedrooms and local Starbucks. These are mostly fine for various types of work but do need the right tools to facilitate communication without hassle.

Slack is one of the popular solutions for this problem, allowing teams to create channels, messaging each other, file sharing, use commands with third party services, and more. The new Huddles feature expands this by adding casual sound chat into the mixture, the same type you might enjoy in the office.

New functionality is similar to the sound chat feature offered in disputes; Users simply turn on the Huddles feature for channels, then join colleagues or existing crowds to participate. This feature includes the option to share your screen, which will make it easier to get help with problems or get input on a project.

Huddles can begin in DMS, too, for times when you need your conversation to stay limited to one person. If the crowd is on the channel, anyone who is on the channel can appear into a conversation similar to the way they can hear your conversation at the physical workplace. This feature launches now to the paid team.
